I REALLY hope this is just a one time thing.
I don't really see a problem with this, if they can make a success of it. Disused churches are being turned into homes, restaurants, hotels, bars, night clubs, stores, mosques and more. If the buildings aren't being used, reuse should be a viable option, just as with old industrial or office buildings, before we resort to demolition and new construction.
