Flash from the Past: Memories of wilder days at University of Waterloo
#11
If I remember correctly, the University owned a house on Old Beechwood where Jim "the hair" Downey lived. It was sold around the time David Johnson moved here.

And the current President, F. Hamdullahpur  may  live here.

I say "may" because 411.ca says there is an F. Hamdullahpur who lives at 705 Springwater Pl Waterloo.  Of course, I could be wrong....

Wow... that is quite modest considering his $400,000 salary

When I was in high school I mowed the lawns at 7, 8 and 12 Westgate Walk. That was in the era 1965 to 1969. The google pictures of 12 Westgate bring back memories. The landscaping has changed since then. Those big circular beds with trees weren't there. In those days, the president of what was then Waterloo Lutheran University lived at No. 8 and the owner of the Record lived at No. 7. It was more of a desert along the whole street in those days. The trees have really grown and made a complete change in the feel of the street.
