American Block Redevelopment | 3 fl | U/C
#76
Anyone know what the timeline is for this development? Have the demolition permits been approved, even?

Subsequently, does anyone know if this property has a basement? I figured som rudimentary information like that might be available on GIS, but apparently not

Promising! Vive is really becoming a major player in DTK, I think they are up to six or seven projects now (some complete and others in planning phases).

There has been no comment about this one for three months. Is work ongoing or has it stalled?

There are now new signs in the windows. It does appear that this will be largely limited to interior renovations for now.

Some signs of progress today. Scaffolding going up, appeared to be along the full length of the Queen St side.

Are any plans for a taller addition to this dead? There was a small mention in an older Record article, with this image:

And I remember some renders from the city (for the Queen St re-scape, I think?) showing a 3 story glass addition on top, with the entire Goudies Lane-facing side being made of all glass.

I believe they are dead. That older plan wasn't so much an addition, as a demolition with facade preservation. It was intended to be residential. Instead it's turned into an office project, keeping the existing structure.

Is the exterior work continuing?

There's scaffolding around the entire building, so I think so. It's difficult to tell what, if anything, is actually happening underneath though.

It looks like the back wall facing the laneway has been pulled away to some extent; I caught a quick glimpse from the Ion.

It looks like there is some brick repair/repointing being done. But what else will be done?
