I believe that a few years ago the GRCA already trimmed some of their property at Laurel Creek (around the intersection of Beaver Creek Rd and Conservation Drive). Given that the conservation authorities were initially established for flood control, I can't imagine that the insurance companies would be too impressed at raising their chances of higher payouts.
