On the south side of bridgeport the pedestrian activation button has been moved from a pole on the west side of the trail to a pole on the east side for ease of access going northbound (you no longer have to cross to the wrong side of the trail to activate the signal which is particularly useful if you are biking with a trailer). The execution of this new pole's placement was poor, they placed it literally in the middle of the 'northbound' lane of the trail (this is one of the few sections of trail that has a yellow dividing on it so imagine that 'half' of the trail with a pole in the middle of it).
The pedestrian activation signal on the north side was also moved. This button was already placed decently close to the corner and on the correct side (west) for southbound users to use easily, but now it has been moved much further west away from the corner of bridgeport and peppler greatly reducing ease of access going southbound (even pedestrians now have to go well out of their way to access it).
I'm through this area myself on a daily basis, I noticed the same odd pole placement.
If I recall correctly, there's plans to add a little bit of multi-use trail up the west side of the street to where the Laurel trail begins again, and to introduce a "crossride" with the crosswalk. So we might be seeing an intermediary point of a plan to shift the crossing slightly further west.
I know who to ask, so I'll do that next time I speak to them.
