Lens, do you keep good archives of all your local photography? Someday they are going to make a very interesting record of the Region in the 20teens.

I have everything backed up and it's all automatically organized by date and a description so things are fairly east to find. Also Flickr is a pretty good organizer by itself.

I hope that folks can look back and find them interesting just as I find older photos of the region fascinating.

Agreed! The steps play really nicely with the historic three floor buildings there.

Conestoga doesn't get the attention it deserves being on the borders of town, but it's looking good!

I find it similar to Laurier in that it has some attractive buildings and some that aren't great at all. But it's a decent mix and the new rec center will look great.

That flooding wall is so unsightly. I remain convinced that a similar security from flooding could have been achieved using more visually appealing means.

Could they not build some kind of dam to bring the water level up thus covering the flood wall and also making a better connection to the waterfront?

Raising the water level would rather defeat the purpose of having a floodwall to begin with.

One problem with a higher water level is that Moffat Creek drains into the river just south of the floodwall after running underground from just north of the bus station. During the 1974 flood the creek backing up was one of the main causes.

They can go up in a matter of hours and removed into storage once the flooding risk has passed.

Cambridge has already introduced some elements of 1 on the east bank at the Mill Race. You can now walk along the river from one decorative staircase to a more utilitarian one, both of which are typically covered up during the spring thaw.
