I don't think they quite got the wording correct on this question:
Who do you think is responsible for making Waterloo Region roads safer? (Check all that apply.)
Clearly the only one who can make the roads safer are the engineers who design them (government).
- Motorists
- Government
- Waterloo Region Police Services
- Cyclists and pedestrians
- All of the above
Everyone can make safer behaviour choices, but none of the other options can physically change the roads.
Yeah, clearly the intended answer is "all of the above"...ironically, I doubt "government" is even intended to be road design...more like "we'll change the few designs which show more injuries than expected"...and for all other issues, we'll do surveys like this.
It's for naught anyway, most people don't even consider the importance of design in usability and safety. I mean, never mind all the people that think they can't use computers because of some poorly designed websites (looking at you prestocard.ca) I know people who swear up and down the walls they're dumb because they walk into the same poorly designed door in our cafeteria that I do. Don't ask people about design, SHOW them good design.
