Sounds like they're well-established in (surprise) New Jersey, but are newcomers to Canada.
Great Cheesesteak subs. They cook the meat to order.

Got this in email today.

Quote:The Bauer Kitchen will be holding their second annual Patio Opening Party this coming Friday June 2, 2017 from 5-8pm.

...a number of vendors with sample beverages including Bench brewery, Elora Brewery, Sidelaunch Brewery, Dixons Distillery and the Vine Wine agency.

Samples are complimentary, as well as some delicious BBQ from the culinary team at TBK.

Not sure if it's open to the public, but I would guess so.

This has taken longer than expected.  I believe this location will include a roastery?

The Working Centre has opened a new cafe in Downtown Kitchener at 256 King St East.

It also has some supportive housing units and a bike repair shop.

"Whiskey"?  So, some sort of "Bourbon/American cocktail" theme?"  Cocktails seem to be the new craft beer in some circles.

Yes,  if you like good Bourbon or Gin, try Grand Trunk Saloon in DTK... and the food is amazing.

Excellent cocktails in general!

I'll second this!

Meanwhile, a rather mediocre review for the "B" (although the restaurant reviews are not exactly a strength of the Record ... ). Personally, I've always enjoyed their food, although the service has tended to be a bit haphazard.

I have to say I disagree with the final analysis in this article.  Maybe they had an off day.  I routinely frequent "B",  haircut at the Walper, then to "B" for lunch.  I have always found the food very good.  The service is always friendly and inviting..  The people there clearly enjoy their work and this is a reflection of the quality of management.

I hope people will dismiss the article and try for themselves..

Yes, we frequent the "B" as well. It has a creative menu, and a nice rotation of taps. Service has always been friendly. I've always been a little skeptical of the Record reviews, but people should not base their decisions completely on one opinion. TripAdvisor, Yelp etc.. are at least populated with a variety, spanning a lot more variables.

D'Amato has a piece in the Record about whether or not a regular supermarket is needed Downtown, with a brief review of existing options. There is a suggestion (from a "community advocate") of the former Stantec office in Market Square as a potential space for a supermarket, which seemed an interesting idea to me, although some might think it further east than would be ideal.

Given the history of Market Square, I'm skeptical that one could make anything work in that location.
