Region of Waterloo International Airport - YKF
For flights between Kitchener and Ottawa, I'd be willing to get "down and dirty". Otherwise, business class or stay at home, for me.

My understanding is that you can get anything on an ULCC but it will cost you.  Not long ago, airlines would advertise ridiculously low prices to get from point A to point B.  But that was just the hook to get you interested.  The actual, final, cost was often double what was advertised.  This way it's more honest.

Yeah, that's the key - I had to take a last minute trip to Europe last month and WOW air was ~$1400 less than the Air Canada flight. I used $250 of that for baggage and upgraded seats, and bought food / drinks in the airport. All told I saved over $1000 and had a better experience (mostly due to legroom). I'm sure if I had just paid the base fare and sat in an uncomfortable seat I would still have hated it.

Just checked: even booking that same flight 6-8 weeks out the cost difference is $1000. Would do the same thing without any reservations.

Sadly my employer won't pay for that -- it's a lowest-fare policy.
