So I just got back from biking through the Shirley Ave. redo. At 10:30 this morning there was what I would call above average traffic than before the realignment but in no way what I would consider busy. Yes it appears that there will be a sidewalk all along the Bingemans side where there was previously none. Although not fully paved or marked, there will be bike lanes on both sides that appeared to be fairly wide. More than comfortable for me who chooses to primarily ride on MUTs, and avoids roads whenever possible. And speaking of MUTs, there already exists a beautiful MUT that runs all along the Grand River through Bingemans from River Bend Dr. to Victoria St. I saw no pedestrians or cyclists on Shirley but at least 6 other cyclists and more than a dozen walkers on the MUT.
