That is astounding…I’m almost in disbelief by that. Those windrows at the ends of sidewalks are a major inconvenience and hazard. If you’re walking along a sidewalk and come to a spot that hasn’t been cleared and is impassable, that is one thing, but if you are crossing a busy street with limited time to do so, and realize it’s not possible to get onto the sidewalk on the other side, that could easily be a dangerous situation.
In Kitchener, I complain about those windrows on corner properties than I do others, for that reason. They understand when I tell them that the property owner may have cleared, once, but that the windrow has since been left for days. I’m amazed that Waterloo would be otherwise…a sidewalk is not passable in that situation.
