Looks like both sides of the road from Bruce to Forwell and south side only to Centennial.
Great! I've always thought the grass was plenty wide to fit MLT's along here. Hopefully, they can reconfigure the lanes on the new bridge over 85 to give space for bikes and match up with this trail.
Maybe one day these will connect all the way to Woodlawn in Guelph where the exact same kind of trails are being put in!
There is no plans to extend these MUTs in either direction, getting to Guelph would be over 5 times farther than the planned lanes, and would require coordination with Guelph and Wellington County, going West is also not an option, the MTO owns the bridge over the expressway and is notoriously hostile to cycling infrastructure, and while there is enough space for the planned sections of trail, with only a few choke points that are squeezing the MUTs to 2.4 meters east of Bruce St., to the west there would be orders of magnitude more right of way constraints West of the expressway. It would only really be feasible if the region was willing to remove a lane on Victoria which they aren't right now, or with substantial property acquisition, which takes a long time.
My hope is that Frederick St. which is seriously overbuilt east of the expressway is narrowed to 3 lanes with protected lanes, to provide a connection to the Victoria lanes from nearish downtown.
