Interesting that the late penalty is capped at $3.3 million, and someone here estimates that the $1500/vehicle/day penalty would cost $4 million if there were no limits. It might mean that they're giving a worst case scenario, since once you hit $3.3 million worth of delays, it doesn't matter (financially) whether you overshoot by a day or a year. But really, apparently, it doesn't matter at this point. I wonder if the seemingly low maximum value of penalty is to prevent anyone from "pulling out" in order to avoid a late penalty cost that is great on net than a cancellation cost.
