On the other hand, I think this looks better and will age into the future better than those pre-fab concrete soviet blocks south of Uni nearby. But holy spandrel, Batman.

But that's using something terrible as a comparison to make this look good. I think we can set out bar higher

No doubt - just meant to compare that at least this is a step of improvement. I don't think Albert and Uni looks great, but I do think its a relief it at least didn't get the same concrete pre-fab treatment as King St. or Lester.
