Some twitter analysis of the proposal.
I happen to agree (and did so on twitter), that the route is not particularly compelling, and that given that there is no proposed through trains, bus service would be a better fit, and one that could be started sooner. It's absurd that there is no bus service between the cities. Of course, GO has already tried a bus service, route 24 from Cambridge to Milton, which has apparently been discontinued due to limited usage.
How you fail at a bus service in that instance, I will never know....honestly I don't think Metrolinx is very good at running bus service. Some of their routing decisions are unbelievably stupid.
