Fairview Mall and Fairview Park are different locations?  What happened to Fairview Park Mall?
Fairview Mall is on Sheppard Ave in North York

Ahh, of course.  My mind was stuck in the Kitchener box!

Chick-Fil-A will be one of the restaurants opening up beside the cineplex and farm boy. Just seen the permit.

Not sure if Chick-Fil-A is still going in, but there is work being done on that site now.

Is anything happening on the old Sears site?

They're still working on it. Externally, it looks close to finished. They are also starting to work on the parking lot, with a new section completed very recently.

Slowly but surely...

It's too bad they removed the brutalist fascade, but I suppose we can't expect the average mall goer to have an affinity for brutalist architecture. Fake brick and a giant all-in-one supercentre mall look prevails.

Any resemblance to our renders is purely coincidental? ...

I'm guessing this is the smokestack from the renders...

I wonder if it will be (fake) functional .... it appears like the metalwork is formed to handle a large pipe inside

Corner braces like those aren't uncommon, I'd be surprised if there was any kind of stack going in there, it's more common to put the stack up before building something around it.

Maybe faux smoke will come out of it??

That thing is completely wrapped with scaffolding now, I am guessing that was the frame for the smokestack.

Where are we at with this big project?

Winners has a sign up on the building and the fake smokestack is wrapped in plastic, but that's the only change I've seen on this part of the project. Across, the street, the building that Chick-Fil-A will be moving into is nearing completion.

I didn't realize that Winners was coming to Fairview, that will certainly help with footfall in the mall.  The Winners' site says that grand opening is May 4th.
