The development in question is near Lackner and Ottawa. It isn’t “near” any of the listed post-secondary institutions.

I guess it's closer to those than it is to Guelph.

So, this is basically a distribution facility for last-mile deliveries? Do those currently come from Mississauga?

A lot of the GO Logistics deliveries come out of Georgetown.

Has there been any discussion about the City of Waterloo's proposal to declare some extra land next to RIM Park surplus and open to development? They are formally known as the Kraus Lands. From the City's decription:

Quote:The Former Kraus Lands (referred to as "the lands") are located on University Avenue East adjacent to the fire station at 911 University Avenue East. The lands are approximately 13.29 hectares (33 acres) in size. It is bounded by University Avenue East to the west, the Walter Bean Trail to the north, the Grand River is located to the east and a private property to the south.

The sale of the lands provides an opportunity to create additional residential and commercial development on the east side of the city. The lands are generally flat and there are no buildings or structures on site, with the subject lands being currently vacant. The surrounding lands are serviced by a bus route, and have amenities of the Grey Silo Golf Course and the RIM Park Manulife Sportsplex.

It would be nice to have some mix of different type of buildings here and not all SFH.

And now, from the City of Kitchener.

Quote:NEWS: Amazon sets-up new delivery station in Kitchener, bringing new jobs & business opportunities. This delivery station will open this fall in a repurposed 120,000 sq ft leased building at 100 Shirley Ave. Details: https://bit.ly/2ZlXERM

Are we getting two delivery stations? Or did something fall through with the last one?
