I've been wondering about that as well - hoping that the original (buff?) brick is still intact and able to be uncovered. It definitely wouldn't be done by sandblasting - if I'm not mistaken, the buff brick that one finds in this part of Ontario is fairly soft.
Unless they're just planning to repaint it ..... Is there a render somewhere of the finished project?

Also - these are just window frames - there's no glass in them yet.

On the Gaukel St side of the building they have started to remove the white paint from the building's exterior. It is looking pretty good so far.

My mistake then, I seen some exposed brick and just assumed it was in the process of being removed.

Even the part behind the old signage that had exposed brick has been repainted white.

It does look good. Although I think a lot of people (I'm one of them) are curious what' under, and if it would look better.

I would too. But I've been told by people not from around here that we "REALLY" love our brick here.
