Well, poop. I'm hearing some rumblings that might indicate that the reason that the Cameron Heights crossover (and KCI) are stalled is because they might have to take a (really big) step backward before moving forward again.

One word: Rebar.

Just thought of another: Northbound track out of Mill station, around to Ottawa past Mill Street.

Yeah, I know you posted that, Canard, but I don't know at what state it's currently stalled.  Still lacking any concrete, I presume?

About half of it's been poured, then they stopped due to a "design revision" on the material for the rebar...

...the rebar which is already under the section embedded in concrete.

The sad thing is that businesses such a Frenzi and Knar Jewelers lasted for most of the construction, and right about now when lots of pedestrian traffic is about to come, they finally closed. I expect this christmas season to be the best ever for Uptown businesses. The place is really inviting with its new configuration.

I'm pretty sure Frenzi (the haircut place and King & Willis Way) closed shortly before construction started.

Knarr's closing sale was in May, so they must have decided to close in the first few months of construction.

Indeed, I thought Frenzi closed this summer, but it was actually a year go. Time flies.

It does suck, but you do want to be sure a structure like the crossover is done right the first time. If something goes amiss and the arrangement gets damaged or warped, you don't want an extended closure of an active line to effect repairs.

The issue was electrical (grounding stuff), from what I understand.

I'm surprised to see this happening already!
