I wonder if given the lack of sponsorship they're scared to lose the Molson's deal.

Craftoberfest is well attended, no?  Doesn't that tell you something.

I'm sure the financials are an important consideration. There may be alternate arrangements possible but it's certainly a big risk to give up on a major contract like that.

Craftoberfest is well-attended, but far, far smaller than Oktoberfest itself. Would 50x as many people be interested in Craftoberfest in its current format? But taking the best parts of Oktoberfest and Craftoberfest, and stealing some good ideas from other Oktoberfest celebrations (both in Munich and globally) there should be a solution out there.
