Apart from both buildings having a difference in the top floors (party different design for DTK, I think only different colour cladding for Landmark Place) I really don't see the similarity.
Not every building will be an architectural award winner; they are built by private companies and our zoning doesn't mandate a city architectural review (nor should it). I personally think this looks just fine, not amazing but fine, like most of the new construction in DTK. We'll get a few super nice buildings over time, some meh, and a lot of decent ones. But as long as we can avoid the calamity that is King St N (between University and Columbia) I'll be happy.
