I had wondered if there was concern about getting rid of the awkward and non-accessible corner there, that doing so would mean drivers could not use the LRT as a turning lane and turn exceedingly wide, lest they run the risk of clipping a raised redesigned corner. I'm glad/hopeful that they've decided that cars can figure out how to execute a better turn, especially with an extra lanewidth to work with due to the rapidway.
