Partial Demolition of St. Teresa School-Kitchener
#1
Started demolition on the former space occupied by the French School that was located with St. Teresa School.   St. Teresa is on Edwin Street from Elizabeth to St. Teresa's Church on Leonard in Kitchener.

By what I understand this portion of the building was vacant for 2 years. I don't know of any plans at the moment. A bit of a waste since it could have been blocked off from the current school and re-purposed. Then again with school safety issues these days I guess it can't be used for any other purpose.

PERMIT IS TO DEMOLISH A PORTION OF ST. TERESA CATHOLIC ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - INCLUDES UPGRADES TO EXISTING INTERIOR WALL TO NOW BECOME AN EXTERIOR WALL

I'm unwilling to criticize this decision without further information. Was the wing structurally sound? contaminated with asbestos? properly insulated? there are times when it is environmentally best to start from scratch and this could be one of them.
