And there is an ice cream shop coming to 99 King St W. Sorry, don't know which one (the info is from the building permit).

Wasn't Four All Ice Cream planning a DTK location.

By the way, anybody else old enough to remember when that address was The Nut Shack?

Four All had a pop-up in DTK before, but I haven't seen any announcement. It would be very nice, and it's certainly a gap in the DTK food selection at the moment.

Four All made an announcement back in June about their planned DTK location. It's definitely the 97/99 King location: https://www.instagram.com/p/CtHOIAANMOQ/...ODBiNWFlZA==

Old Galt Bottle Shop Closing:
update from their Instagram page:

A little update from the OG team.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the closing of OG. Our last day of operation will be Sunday, March 31st.

First and foremost, we want to say thank you! We are incredibly grateful for all of your support over the last three years. Without you, our vision for OG would have never become a reality. It’s truly been an amazing experience, and we are both honoured and humbled to have been part of the local landscape and craft beer community.

As I’m sure you’ve been hearing, it’s a difficult time in the service industry, so we’re going to take some time to re-calibrate. We have every intention of bringing OG back better than ever, it’s just a matter of when and where. So stay tuned.

But fear not, we’ll still be slinging beers, serving up food, and having a good time for the next few weeks. In other words, it’s business as usual for now 🤙

Also, mark your calendars - we’ll be having a little shindig on the weekend of March 23rd and 24th, with some breweries coming out, live entertainment, and bbq. It promises to be a good time!

As always, we look forward to seeing you at the shop 🍻

There was another Indian restaurant there before (that I never tried), wasn't there?

Chopan Kabob was there previously and before that Tandoor Taste.

There are a lot more South Asians in the Region, leading to a proliferation of Indian restaurants. The more the better as far as I am concerned, though I can't afford to eat in restaurants that much.  I just wish that someone would open a kathi roll joint somewhere close to me, though.

If only there were municipal zoning tools to help small local retail thrive and not die all the time in wasteful plazas…

Lots of Indian restaurants, but almost all of the focus on North Indian food, which is more familiar to most people. It's good that we at least have Jayalakshmi and Rangeela for some interesting variety.

There has been an increase in places selling dosas and other South Indian dishes.
