ION - Waterloo Region's Light Rail Transit
It looks like the block between Ontario and Queen is also getting ready for pavement.

I expect they'll make it to Water this week, maybe even today, but they weren't doing it at the time I took the photo.

Indeed. taylortbb simply reported what they were currently doing. That had no bearing on whether they would also do more, elsewhere. Smile

Is the dividing curb between the 2 different ROWs in there now? It still wasn't when I drove past on Friday, and I'd assume it needs to be done before they can pave.

Very true, my mistake!

Yes, the curb between road and LRT ROW is in place along Charles.

Both sides now paved, they were finishing the work in the evening around 6 PM.

Ah, you're right, when I checked, only one of the curbs is in place, so the paving will be sometime later for that section.

Thanks for all the updates everyone! It would be great if there were a map to go along with all these updates. Anyone handy with GoogleMaps willing to volunteer to make a map to show where the various sections are at in terms of progress e.g. one colour for not started, another for pre-utility work stage, curbs stage, base coat pavement stage, tracks in stage, etc.
Everyone move to the back of the bus and we all get home faster.

I made one a while ago, but discovered the first time I tried to edit it that it's basically impossible with Google's tools (unless I'm doing something really wrong). Could never figure out how to layer. I'd be happy to work with someone to provide information about what sections are at what status, if someone who's more handy with Google Maps wants to have a go.

Crews were paving the intersection of Charles St and Water St this morning while continuing to allow vehicles through which was convenient. Nice to see continual effort to minimize traffic disruptions during construction.

Seems that Ottawa Street is open again at Mill. At least it was this evening when I passed through it.

It must have re-opened this morning - I drove it this afternoon.  It gets so difficult to keep track of what is open and what is closed!

Through the University, they've cleared out the old rail ballast, and have been levelling the dirt base for the new.

Curbs were poured for Borden today! If it weren't for the intersection being shut down, Borden would most likely be a complete street again by the end of this week.

I see that Manulife has added the new HUGE sign on the King Centre just like they did on their King St N @ Hwy 85 Location.
