They work on this site every day.  All the walls make no sense to me.  Some seem to have windows and some seem to have doors.  If this level is for underground parking I have no idea how it would work.  The second picture shows a closeup of the area abutting Duke Street and the church.  It's elevated but they seem to using tiles instead of pouring concrete.  I'm baffled by it all.

I think the “tiles” are forms, onto which the concrete will be poured. Some companies use re-useable formwork with only minimal custom-cut pieces.

As to the layout, I find it somewhat confusing too. Is it possible the centre is stairs/elevators/corridors/storage, while the parking is around the outside? It’s a bit hard to tell exactly how big everything is from the photo.

Maybe the underground will have no parking but just storage? Also is the tile maybe for the retail portion for the floors? Just wild guesses, lol

Hey guys: We really need to start coming up with some conspiracy theories for this build. Obviously they're being tight lipped about this in order to keep it top secret. I have some ideas but I was told to shut the heck up, so believe me, I think I was fairly close to what's going on, and therefore I understand the secret nature to what's happening down there.

Speaking of the tiles: I believe we saw this either at Charlie West or Arrow Shirt, can't remember which one though.

Told to shut the heck up by whom lol?

Well what was your theory? Why is there any secrecy about the project?

Just saw the pictures. I thought we already established there Is no genuine underground parking but podium parking.

That might be the storage lockers and other amenities or such

I think you're onto something. What sort of amenities? Or what could be 'such'?

Off topic, by the way, I just got through watching Stranger Things (all 3 seasons). Great series. Pays great homage to Steven Spielberg.

Honestly not sure. Unusual for a games room etc to be in the basement but hey, "half the price of Toronto" Wink (the major slogan for this project for those who don't know).

Off topic reply: Stranger things was great. Finished season 3 a couple weeks back. Watching Schitt's Creek right now. Funny sh!t haha. And Peaky Blinders looks intriguing. Watched 30 mins so far

A games room, right? Like a "War Games" type of thing, which might explain the secrecy of everything. Possible government involvement for certain. This would explain the spike of interest that the CIA has had in Kitchener lately.

Do we know the total number of apartment units in this building?

See, this is another thing no one knows. What on earth is going on there? I might have to buy a unit just to find out!

From what I can tell from the drawings. There appears to be 452 units. But the drawings might be outdated as it only goes to 36 stories. So theoretically it could be more like 500 units with the additional 3 stories.

I think the only projects for which I've seen a number of units reported have been Otis (30) and the Drewlo project (460 something, iirc).  I'm still wondering how many apartments are currently under construction, or about to be, in DTK.  Istm that it must be something between 1,000 and 1500 units, but that's just my guess.

Jeffster, you are definitely on to something here.  I know I can't be the only one who noticed this obvious sign of the Illuminati.

As well, I've seen some construction workers using squares and compasses, so I know the Masonic Lodge is deeply involved in this.  I didn't even think about the CIA's recent interest in the Kitchener area... so this thing is turning into a real pressure cooker.

As for Stranger Things, I can't get the Neverending Story out of my head now.  [Tin foil hat doesn't help either Wink ]

Yes the "tiles" are forms to hold the rebar and concrete. When the concrete cures they are removed from below. As for all the walls since it is the core it will be more congested. I marked out what a few areas are from looking at it, assuming the part with the columns will be some parking. Areas in between the long concrete walls will most likely be locker rooms, electrical, and mechanical rooms.
