Got this in email today.
Quote:The Bauer Kitchen will be holding their second annual Patio Opening Party this coming Friday June 2, 2017 from 5-8pm. Not sure if it's open to the public, but I would guess so.
Matter of Taste will be opening a new location at Factory Square (451 Philip) in Waterloo. https://www.instagram.com/p/BVo_0NIg39s/

The Working Centre has opened a new cafe in Downtown Kitchener at 256 King St East.
It also has some supportive housing units and a bike repair shop. http://www.570news.com/2017/06/23/workin...kitchener/

They missed their Spring opening, but the building is looking good.

"Whiskey"? So, some sort of "Bourbon/American cocktail" theme?" Cocktails seem to be the new craft beer in some circles.

Meanwhile, a rather mediocre review for the "B" (although the restaurant reviews are not exactly a strength of the Record ... ). Personally, I've always enjoyed their food, although the service has tended to be a bit haphazard.

I routinely frequent "B", haircut at the Walper, then to "B" for lunch. I have always found the food very good. The service is always friendly and inviting.. The people there clearly enjoy their work and this is a reflection of the quality of management. I hope people will dismiss the article and try for themselves..

Yes, we frequent the "B" as well. It has a creative menu, and a nice rotation of taps. Service has always been friendly. I've always been a little skeptical of the Record reviews, but people should not base their decisions completely on one opinion. TripAdvisor, Yelp etc.. are at least populated with a variety, spanning a lot more variables.

D'Amato has a piece in the Record about whether or not a regular supermarket is needed Downtown, with a brief review of existing options. There is a suggestion (from a "community advocate") of the former Stantec office in Market Square as a potential space for a supermarket, which seemed an interesting idea to me, although some might think it further east than would be ideal.

Given the history of Market Square, I'm skeptical that one could make anything work in that location.
