I think if a potential CPL team here did a better job of advertising and promotion than KW United has done, that would make a huge difference.

It's the wrong thread, but there's a piece at CBC today that says that the Titans have the highest average attendance in the league, at 5,429.   That astonishes me - is it accurate?

Wow, if that is accurate they are approaching Ranger-esque numbers! I also had no idea.

I find this difficult to believe, though I would certainly like to be proven wrong.

I went to three Titans games this year. One had approximately 2,200 fans, the other two had around 1,200. I suppose those three games could have been anomalies, but I kind of doubt it.

The games I attended were no where near that. I just looked at Playoff tickets and basically there is unlimited availability. Nothing has been booked.

If they had Ranger's numbers, they wouldn't need to do 50% discounts...

I think CBC got the city wrong.  This from wikipedia:

London Lightning 5,429
Island Storm    1,934
Saint John Riptide    1,912
Halifax Hurricanes    1,860
Niagara River Lions    1,753
Moncton Miracles    1,531
Cape Breton Highlanders    1,475
KW Titans    1,305
Windsor Express    1,034
Orangeville A's    293

Titans are well down the list, but respectable for a first-season team.

1,305 is more like what I've seen at the games... Question is, what is London doing that we are not?

Anyone have ideas on this? I have heard this a couple of times now from various people connected to soccer in this country. Some of mentioned SunLife as a partner.

The Sunlife parking on King is far too valuable otherwise to be made into a soccer stadium (much as I would personally like to see one). I can't think of anywhere in central Waterloo for this, to be honest; I don't really get what these tweets are alluding to.

I'm skeptical a soccer stadium would be built here, but what about at Pine Street on the CKCO property/whatever that empty field is sandwiched between it and the cemetary.

The sports field is property of the high school (KCI).

Could see KCI and the future CanPL side strike a deal. The CanPL is the most professional team we can have here in KW. Suspected player budgets are around 1.5 million. Isn't sunlight getting some parking out of that deal with those new condos?
