Looks like the Ottawa and Strasburg A&W has been approved.

Where is this? I don't recognize it.

Noticed that there is another Sub place opening on fairway. There is a sign up on the old Starbucks for Jersey Mikes Subs https://www.jerseymikes.com.
BTW recently tried Firehouse subs, quite tasty and a nice alternative to subway, albeit much more expensive. The hot sauce bar makes it worth trying.

It's in the old Honey Bake Shop, and there's a bbq, bourbon, beer and blues bar going into the old Frenzi just a few door up from there. With the new McCabes going in, the Captain's Boil that just opened and the new restaurant taking over the old Failte, there seems to be an overly competitive market in Uptown.

I guess, since DVLB has whisky, the new place figured there's a niche for "whiskey".

White Rabbit also has an extensive collection.
It's important to price check! Apparently there are some high end ones where the DVLB/WR price difference can be almost $20!

White Rabbit's paddle of 1/2 scotches is a pretty decent deal and quite a good idea.

Prior to this space being Honey Bake Shop, it was Words Worth Books (now located next door). Any thoughts on whether the Uptown will be able to stabilize the loss of retail spaces in favour of restaurant and bar spaces? Will Uptown end up with a mix similar to the University Plaza area, that is a high number of places to eat with maybe a handful of services (dentist, hair cuts, pharmacy), but no general retail? Or, half tongue in cheek, does this mean that this is the forerunner a new wave of retail spaces that cater to a similar demographic.

Rents are going up. My barber's lease comes up in 2019 and he's worried about an excessive increase. According to him, that was the reasoning for Honey Bake shop leaving.
