This would be a big change in housing type for this neighbourhood!

I do feel for the neighbours who are directly adjacent- living next to a 50-spot parking lot probably wouldn’t be pleasant.
It seems strange to me that the document talks about the fact that Highland Road is back-lotted in that stretch, and a driveway is not desirable because traffic is too fast. But these townhouses front onto Highland- that fast traffic doesn’t sound too pleasant for the future residents.
I hope that the frontage onto Highland is attractive, and that access by the residents on foot is easy and pleasant. It wasn’t mentioned in the document besides as a response by a staff member at one of the meetings, but this is extremely close (150 meters) to a 204 stop- these future residents will have very good transit if the development is designed to give them a nice walk to Highland.

There is a industrial/commercial building going up (or an addition) next to Kastl & Zuch Plumbing & Heating Ltd 3 Colby Ct in Waterloo. Couldn't find any details.

It is for the reconfiguration of the intersection, indeed. Not a traffic circle mind you, but Shantz and Fountain between Shantz and King are being widened, the intersection is being reconfigured into more of a 'Y' rather than a 'T', and the S-curve in front of Dover is being lessened.

Work seems to be getting underway on the site of the mixed-use apartment building at the corner of Stirling Ave and Homer Watson.
