RE: General Urban Waterloo Updates and Rumours - jwilliamson - 05-19-2019 I have a vague memory that the region bought that land and built the parking lot as temporary parking while traffic on King was disrupted by construction. Can anyone confirm this? If that's true, they might be looking to unload it to a developer. RE: General Urban Waterloo Updates and Rumours - jwilliamson - 05-25-2019 The buildings from 151 to 161 King St N are all vacant and boarded up. Did this project ever get zoning approval? RE: General Urban Waterloo Updates and Rumours - kalis0490 - 05-25-2019 The first time that District condos went to to the zoning committee, they rejected it as it was 'too tall' (26 stories). Later they changed the design to two small towers and that was approved. In this time, the proposal became 'bust' Some info about this project: https://www.therecord.com/news-story/6849703-failed-king-street-condo-proposal-goes-bust/ RE: General Urban Waterloo Updates and Rumours - kalis0490 - 06-10-2019 This is something that I found on the E Square Developments website. They are the company that has worked with Schembri on projects such as One Columbia and The Block (URL Condos). On their future developments page, they call for "A three tower development with 568 Units total -- 2 - 12 storey buildings and with a 24 storey building." Can anyone identify from the render where the location of this project is? This is the link to their future developments page: http://esquaredcondos.com/future-waterloo.php EDIT: I think it may be here: https://www.google.ca/maps/@43.4706842,-80.5112994,3a,53.2y,204.32h,80.45t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sWhm6hd9Zs-OuPnoczQR-0w!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 RE: General Urban Waterloo Updates and Rumours - bpoland - 06-10-2019 I feel like that set of lots on Bridgeport just east of Weber fits with the description, if you substitute a beer store for a liquor store RE: General Urban Waterloo Updates and Rumours - ac3r - 06-10-2019 (06-10-2019, 08:29 AM)kalis0490 Wrote: This is something that I found on the E Square Developments website. I don't know where this is, although it states it's close to a Walmart (I don't know where most of the Walmarts are KW, but you might be able to figure it out that way). RE: General Urban Waterloo Updates and Rumours - KevinL - 06-10-2019 They have to meant the one at Bridgeport and Weber, I'm sure. They don't force the bar to rise RE: General Urban Waterloo Updates and Rumours - rangersfan - 06-11-2019 It looks like an uglier version of the Belmont Trio project. Although is that a glass roof top patio with trees? RE: General Urban Waterloo Updates and Rumours - kitborn - 07-21-2019 Is this rental or condos? If condos, what are the prices for the unit? RE: General Urban Waterloo Updates and Rumours - Spokes - 07-21-2019 That's going to look fantastic once complete RE: General Urban Waterloo Updates and Rumours - tomh009 - 07-21-2019 (07-21-2019, 11:11 AM)kitborn Wrote: Is this rental or condos? This assembly is now for sale. The sale sign refers to it as a development opportunity and includes the zoning for the lot. |
