I have a vague memory that the region bought that land and built the parking lot as temporary parking while traffic on King was disrupted by construction. Can anyone confirm this?
If that's true, they might be looking to unload it to a developer.

The buildings from 151 to 161 King St N are all vacant and boarded up. Did this project ever get zoning approval?

The first time that District condos went to to the zoning committee, they rejected it as it was 'too tall' (26 stories). Later they changed the design to two small towers and that was approved. In this time, the proposal became 'bust'

This is something that I found on the E Square Developments website. They are the company that has worked with Schembri on projects such as One Columbia and The Block (URL Condos). On their future developments page, they call for "A three tower development with 568 Units total -- 2 - 12 storey buildings and with a 24 storey building." Can anyone identify from the render where the location of this project is?

I feel like that set of lots on Bridgeport just east of Weber fits with the description, if you substitute a beer store for a liquor store Smile

Waterloo sure seems to attract the worst in architectural designs...that's awful. I don't know where this is, although it states it's close to a Walmart (I don't know where most of the Walmarts are KW, but you might be able to figure it out that way).

It's because they allow it to happen.  They don't force the bar to rise

Back in 2014 they were announced to be condos. I believe that there is no informational publicly available, though.

This assembly is now for sale. The sale sign refers to it as a development opportunity and includes the zoning for the lot.
