222 Albert Street | 12 fl | Complete - Spokes - 08-29-2014 222 Albert Street
222 Albert Street, Waterloo Developer: Accommod8U Architect: ASP Design Group 12 storey mixed use building containing 66 units (95 beds) and approximately 100 square metres of commercial space on the ground floor Re: 222 Albert Street - Quiet One - 09-15-2014 Fences are now around both properties - likely to come down in the next couple of weeks. Re: 222 Albert Street - Spokes - 09-15-2014 Thanks for the update. And welcome to WRC! That's great news that this is going forward. I still haven't seen anything from the city about this one though. Re: 222 Albert Street - Spokes - 09-15-2014 Found this interesting. One drawing from the design firm shows two commercial units facing Lester with an art gallery facing university. A new gallery would be interesting here for sure. I still haven't seen anything from the city about this one though. There's not much to see - the zone change was approved on June 23 (download link to the meeting packet here). It was a removal of the holding symbol to confirm that the infrastructure capacity was sufficient. The proposal is a "12 storey mixed use building containing 66 units (95 beds) and approximately 100 square metres of commercial space on the ground floor". Spokes Wrote:Found this interesting. Re: 222 Albert Street - Spokes - 09-16-2014 Thanks for clarifying all of that! Re: 222 Albert Street - rangersfan - 09-24-2014 September 23, 2014 demolition well under way Re: 222 Albert Street - Markster - 09-24-2014 I am so, so happy that this parcel will have prominent ground level retail. It is too important an intersection to remain single-use residential. If only it also had as nice a relation to the corner as the building on the other side of Albert. RE: 222 Albert Street - nms - 12-10-2014 A flyer arrived in the mail today for Accomod8U, touting "Luxury Apartments for Rent". They are representing 255 Sunview Street and 222 Albert Street. RE: 222 Albert Street - Watdot - 01-21-2015 Second crane being installed on site. RE: 222 Albert Street - BuildingScout - 01-22-2015 Two cranes for a medium size development !? Are they trying to rush this thing in time for the Fall term? RE: 222 Albert Street - Markster - 01-22-2015 It's a very deep site, so I suspect that construction for this, and for the red building in the background of this picture are being coordinated. RE: 222 Albert Street - firex - 01-28-2015 Two constructions on this site. 222 Albert (the foreground building) and 228 Albert (the background building). Lego's are in the ground for 228. Just a cement slab right now for 222. Both are being constructed simultaneously, but 222 is expected to be finished first (it's a precast design construction, vs. ICF construction on 228). RE: 222 Albert Street | 12 fl | U/C - rangersfan - 02-03-2015 Good to know. Having not looked closely at the details I was never certain if the building in the background was part of the project or just picture back ground. |
