A good, balanced article in the G&M on Plateau Mont-Royal, where there has been a continuous move to more pedestrian- and bicycle-friendly streets over the last six years (and more). Not entirely applicable to us as Plateau Mont-Royal is only a small part of a much larger city, but food for thought nevertheless.
