With Covid-19, it unfortunately might not even happen now...it'll depend on how bad people are hit economically. If people are no longer able to afford to buy, they sure won't build something of that size. I think the construction boom is going to grind to a halt for a few years while we recover from this.
I'm optimistic given the industry in Kitchener that it will be one of the cities least affected by the economic downturn.

Hopefully not too much will be affected here. Obviously there will be some impact, I just hope it's not as massive as it will be in some places.

Please keep us updated if it gets scrapped. Or if it's still a go. Thanks for the insight, even if its veryyyy limited, it is still appreciated

Work continues on this site.  With the pile drivers, cranes in the background and the LRT, this is a very different Kitchener from 10 years ago.

The First pic looks like the Station Park site, the Second Pic looks like the new Google Building site

Totally random thought: I think I prefer the name Sixo to Station Park

Station Park is as close to generic as a name can get.

I preferred that name, but I could never really figure out how you were supposed to say it. Six-oh?

Yep. The name came from the address, 607 King St. Zehr group had their office there, which apparently Zehr Group employees always called six-oh, shortened from six-oh-seven. As in, "I'll see you back at six-oh". So definitely a lot more history in that name than Station Park.

I knew it was a link to the address, but that's a cool story. Thanks for sharing
