"SIXO Midtown" is what they are labeling this block now. All very exciting stuff. The article claims construction could start this time next year- I hope that winds up being the case.

Looks like the building will be unvailed in 60 days. http://sixomidtown.com

Nice speculative render of the transit hub buildings!

100 Victoria as well!  At this rate we'll have a real skyline within ten years ...

And it's in the Record. Notably, they now have the entire block.

http://www.therecord.com/news-story/7079447-big-changes-coming-to-king-street-west-with-condos-apartments-retail-and-offices/

Quote:The purchase of a small property paves the way for a big redevelopment of 2.4 hectares of land fronting along King Street West that will cost hundreds of millions of dollars.

The Zehr Group announced Friday it completed the purchase of 641 King St. W. in Kitchener, and now owns all of the land between the railway tracks and Wellington Street South, and into the block as far as the Ontario Seed property.

"It really allowed us to close off the entire block," said Zac Zehr, manager of development for the Zehr Group. "We can now move forward with the whole master plan vision we have for the site."

Hot damn! I'm giddy.

Also in that render: McDonald's is missing! Do they own that property too?'

Don't miss this other render on a secondary page. Very pretty! I CAN'T WAIT!

No catenary in the rendering. Time to complain that it's not an accurate depiction and assume they have no credibility. ... [stare]

Very exciting, I wonder if the presented project will be different than renders we have seen.

RE: King's Crossing | 12 fl | Proposed - jamincan - 01-23-2017

I love that the concept of Midtown as a place is starting to take hold, although I tend to associate it more with the northern end of King up around Allen. Either way, I expect that we'll see the entire section of King Street start to fill in over the next ten years to the point where downtown and uptown are fully connected.

RE: King's Crossing | 12 fl | Proposed - tomh009 - 01-23-2017

SIXO ... the current address is six-oh-seven King West?

RE: King's Crossing | 12 fl | Proposed - Viewfromthe42 - 01-23-2017

It tells me something, I think, that their website has an option to not only select that you are an investor, but to categorize your investment by 1-5, 5-10, or 10+ units you would purchase, as well as having the first option for where you live be "Toronto/GTA" and not KW. Doesn't give me warm fuzzies, that's for sure.

This I question as well.  I mean, they're just gathering information at this point, so, maybe they'll prioritize people who are looking for somewhere to live as opposed to those who select "investor, from Toronto/GTA interested in 10+".  But we'll see what they do with it.
