RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - Spokes - 06-07-2021 That's an outstanding addition!! RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - Chris - 06-10-2021 Uptown patios https://uptownwaterloobia.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/UP-2021-Patio-Map-web.pdf Downtown https://issuu.com/dtkownit/docs/digital_copy Not sure how well this one would work on mobile. It's not done as well as the Uptown version And one last piece of general news. https://twitter.com/Bar_Rescue_KW/status/1402985889672749072 RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - tomh009 - 06-10-2021 So, what is the original location, if not the current one? This is the original location, but for the last year or two Jack Burger hasn't been open and Caper's was open in this spot while they were between the spot on Queen and the new one that was supposed to be opening on King. Now it seems like the owner of Caper's has died, so Jack's moved back into this spot. That's what I read in a post on fb anyways. RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - Chris - 06-11-2021 As far as I know it's always been there and it's always been Jack Burger (part of the Bobby O'Briens et al.). I think the tweet is just poorly written. I think the FB comment was more about the clientele. After Frankie's and Capers shut down the regulars started going to Jacks to hang out. RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - neonjoe - 06-11-2021 The only thing I remember about Jack’s Burger is sharing a pitcher of their Combat Juice. …. Then I stopped remembering things. RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - robdrimmie - 06-11-2021 I am quite confused by what's happening, but if Jack's can stay in that old house on Duke I think that's great! That house was definitely slated to be demolished as part of the condo culture build. I'm not sure why the Caledon paper was the first hit for this story, but this story about it was published in January 2021: https://www.caledonenterprise.com/news-story/10312279-highrise-development-on-track-on-duke-street-west-in-downtown-kitchener/ RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - tomh009 - 06-11-2021 (06-11-2021, 09:19 AM)robdrimmie Wrote: I am quite confused by what's happening, but if Jack's can stay in that old house on Duke I think that's great! So, is that dead now? IIRC I was told it's still moving along, and they expect Jack Burger to have another summer or two to stay open. But honestly, I've lost track of time, I don't remember when in the last year I asked. RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - Jefferson - 06-28-2021 District Nightclub is closing.. According to KitchenerToday.com the building has been sold and will be replaced by something new. RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - BruceAshe - 07-05-2021 Breakfast Blyes and BBQs is closing, both the restaurant and food truck. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=4599983643349570&id=658928087455165 RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - jwilliamson - 07-13-2021 Odd Burger (https://oddburger.com/) is moving into the Booster Juice space in uptown. I've been looking for a good vegan place to eat junk food like that for a while. A shame it's uptown though, I hate the vibe Waterloo has so I rarely ever go. |
