From The Record "There's also been concern that another 'downtown staple' will be closing its doors, as development signs have popped up at Caper's Sports Bar on Queen Street."   Concern ? really ???

Yes, concern. While neither was ever one of my preferred watering holes they are both long-term community spaces and people built important relationships with them. I've been in each several times and in my opinion their reputation is much like Cedar Hill or downtown's in general: overly negative and not entirely accurate any more.

On the weekend, someone told me that it was moving to Highland Rd. E.  They believed it was here:

Does anyone know if the Benfica Cafe has closed or is closing?

There is no indication on their Facebook page which last had a posting on July 5. The only other nearby possibility is the space formerly occupied by Pizzawarma at Spadina.

RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - Acitta - 07-10-2019

The space formerly occupied by the Stampede Corral at Stirling and Courtland is still available though somewhat larger than where Frankie's was.

RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - neonjoe - 07-10-2019

Has the former stampede spot been subdivided? it looks like it has doors and windows now.

RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - Spokes - 07-11-2019

That wouldn't surprise me if it were, that''s a BIG space

RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - panamaniac - 07-20-2019

Has anybody tried Breakfast Blues & BBQ across from 100 Victoria St S? It has been open for a while now, I think. What's it like as a sit-down place?

Most of it appears to have been taken over by Pathways Educational Services.

Just stopped by transfers in the charles street terminal to get a drink and the cashier said they are closing the end of the month.

RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - Spokes - 07-21-2019

That's too bad, but was inevitable

RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - rangersfan - 07-29-2019

Seen today on Frederick that a new bakery 'Flour Co' will be opening soon.
