RE: GO Transit - SammyOES2 - 10-29-2016 Yeah, the location only makes sense in terms of the Breslau Secondary Plan and the proposed development there. This is obviously out of date, but is still the general idea (as I understand it): http://www.woolwich.ca/en/newsevents/resources/Thomasfield-PlanningJustificationReport-March2011.pdf And I'm not sure if these are the most recent version, but the full secondary plan is really big, and the maps are most useful for seeing what they're thinking: http://www.woolwich.ca/en/newsevents/resources/MAPS_ONLY_from_Draft_Secondary_Plan_and_Appendices_with_AMENDED_Schedule_B_and_C.pdf RE: GO Transit - KevinL - 10-29-2016 The second document there shows a new major road cutting east-west, an extension of Dolman St in the original village that connects to Fountain then over the tracks to become an extension of Kramp Rd. This looks to be key for station connectivity. RE: GO Transit - SammyOES2 - 10-29-2016 I'm pretty skeptical the portion from Woolwich to Fountain would be built anytime soon. But connecting to Fountain would make a lot of sense. RE: GO Transit - DHLawrence - 10-29-2016 Grobe and Belgian should extend their hours; I can see a lot of people getting off the train at the end of the day and realizing they should have gotten flowers for Valentine's Day/their anniversary/insert occasion here. (Where do you guys find all this stuff?!) RE: GO Transit - DKsan - 12-06-2016 Conceptual Breslau GO station layout Link here. Page 22. RE: GO Transit - rangersfan - 12-06-2016 Great find, thanks for sharing. RE: GO Transit - timio - 12-06-2016 Now to improve the quality of tracks between here and Georgetown so it makes it worthwhile taking the train over driving. RE: GO Transit - Markster - 12-06-2016 That is a very optimistic number of bus bays. RE: GO Transit - kps - 12-06-2016 (12-06-2016, 12:19 PM)DKsan Wrote: Conceptual Breslau GO station layout Wouldn't it make more sense to locate it on Fountain, which has a 7N exit planned [edit: and quick airport access]? RE: GO Transit - Markster - 12-06-2016 The only thing that makes sense about the proposed location is that they can fit a large surface parking lot on cheap land. RE: GO Transit - Viewfromthe42 - 12-06-2016 The four-lane flow-in doesn't seem to necessarily make sense with the proposed mixed-use dense area it bisects, but who knows. RE: GO Transit - Markster - 12-06-2016 In case anyone was wondering, the drawing came from this report: http://www.metrolinx.com/en/docs/pdf/board_agenda/20161208/20161208_BoardMtg_New_Stations_Update_EN.pdf And there's more from Metrolinx Quote: Procurement Update: http://www.metrolinx.com/en/docs/pd...ardMtg_RER_Package1_Procurement_Update_EN.pdf RE: GO Transit - Canard - 12-06-2016 (12-06-2016, 01:19 PM)Viewfromthe42 Wrote: The four-lane flow-in doesn't seem to necessarily make sense with the proposed mixed-use dense area it bisects, but who knows. I imagine this has more to do with what happens when 500 people get off a train and suddenly everyone tries to leave at the same time. I'm only getting the shortened URLs and I think it might be due to the quote since the first link is okay. |
