Ok sorry yes that's what I meant, just got the names mixed up! so yeah, sad they are moving so far. RE: 345 King St W - welltoldtales - 02-07-2018 I hope some day we can attract businesses like America Latina to Midtown. There is a nice spot on Margaret Street that seems like it would be ideal and they would be surrounded by a very supportive neighbourhood. Midtown needs some independent businesses badly... it needs any businesses for that matter (beyond doctors offices). For me personally, that's still walking distance. But the definition of "walking distance" depends very much on the person. RE: 345 King St W - Elmira Guy - 02-07-2018 Victoria and Frederick is a pretty solid walk from downtown. Certainly not doing that one at lunch break. Duh, I was still reading "Lancaster". Reading comprehension issue! I would make a point of supporting almost any kind of new food business that opened up in Midtown. RE: 345 King St W - Viewfromthe42 - 02-07-2018 A bar is opening up in the old Enterprise spot, on Victoria right by Lancaster. I think I saw the Molly Bloom's logo (heavily tagged on all windows though). The Falls Road. https://twitter.com/thefallsroad296 RE: 345 King St W - robdrimmie - 02-20-2018 Rana and Unity have announced their last days. Friday and Saturday respectively. Neither have announced new downtown locations, though for purely selfish reasons I do hope Rana gets a spot in the new building or somewhere else nearby. RE: 345 King St W - Viewfromthe42 - 02-20-2018 ...both have announced their new locations, so neither will be downtown anymore. Golden Turtle's sign says they have not yet found a new location. RE: 345 King St W - JoeKW - 02-20-2018 I've heard that Golden Turtle won't be reopening. (Second hand, take that as you will) RE: 345 King St W - Belmonster - 02-23-2018 I'm a little surprised that none of the displaced businesses opted to move into the vacant storefronts across the street. Are the rents on those units just untenable? Perhaps city taxes on empty storefronts should be adjusted to make filling them a more attractive option. |
