RE: Station Park (née SIXO) | 28 + 20? + 12? + ? fl | Proposed - taylortbb - 08-21-2019 (08-21-2019, 11:56 AM)panamaniac Wrote: Asd always, I wonder about over-building, but as long as investors are lining up to buy condos to rent out to techies, I guess we're not there yet. Given what the census showed about KW population growth I'm not concerned. We still have quite a low rental vacancy rate. More supply might put some downward pressure on rental prices, which have been climbing fast the past year. RE: Station Park (née SIXO) | 28 + 20? + 12? + ? fl | Proposed - ac3r - 08-21-2019 A friend of mine has been working on this project doing some of the drawings in CAD for the first phase. It looks decent. I haven't got to see any V-Ray renders yet so what the entire site plan looks like will have to wait until they start sales I think. RE: Station Park (née SIXO) | 28 + 20? + 12? + ? fl | Proposed - LesPio - 08-21-2019 'An experience awaits' in new condo towers planned for King/Victoria in Kitchener Condo towers of 18 and 28 storeys will feature a wide variety of lifestyle amenities https://www.kitchenerpost.ca/news-story/9560359--an-experience-awaits-in-new-condo-towers-planned-for-king-victoria-in-kitchener/ RE: Station Park (née SIXO) | 28 + 20? + 12? + ? fl | Proposed - tomh009 - 08-21-2019 (08-21-2019, 11:56 AM)panamaniac Wrote: Asd always, I wonder about over-building, but as long as investors are lining up to buy condos to rent out to techies, I guess we're not there yet. As long as the condo projects sell enough to start construction, we'll know we haven't reached that point. And the condos are still only a small part of the new home construction volume in the region. RE: Station Park (née SIXO) | 28 + 20? + 12? + ? fl | Proposed - panamaniac - 08-21-2019 I wonder if the bowling will be open to the public or will be a residents' amenity? It's a long time since there's been a bowling alley in DTK. (Anybody else remeber the Strand?) RE: Station Park (née SIXO) | 28 + 20? + 12? + ? fl | Proposed - Momo26 - 08-22-2019 From what I've seen, it's basically two lanes of bowling, not an entire bowling hall or anything crazy. I've also experienced it first hand in a Mississauga condo building near Square One. So I'll go with a strong guess of residents' only RE: Station Park (née SIXO) | 28 + 20? + 12? + ? fl | Proposed - danbrotherston - 08-22-2019 (08-21-2019, 10:30 PM)panamaniac Wrote: I wonder if the bowling will be open to the public or will be a residents' amenity? RE: Station Park (née SIXO) | 28 + 20? + 12? + ? fl | Proposed - jamincan - 08-22-2019 And there's one at Ottawa and King as well. Not downtown, but I'd say DTK is served better than average by bowling alleys still. The pins had to be set up, and the bowling balls returned, manually - I used to go to youth bowling there on Saturday mornings and dreaded being the designated pin boy - those things could really fly if you sent the ball down hard enough. Unfortunately, not a single three-bedroom unit available. Probably practically no families will live here. There will be a sales event on the 7th. I don't recall seeing a single large condo building go up with three bedroom units...this is quite disappointing. RE: Station Park (née SIXO) | 28 + 20? + 12? + ? fl | Proposed - MidTowner - 09-03-2019 I can't, either, and it's frustrating. I understand that they are less profitable for developers, so it's hard to fault them for not including them. But it's a social good and the City should be promoting the inclusion of at least a few larger units. The fact that it's not even on their radar that these developments should include a mix of unit sizes is a real disappointment. |
