Moody indeed. Are you part of a skeleton staff still in office? I would be feeling a bit depressed if only person there, personally.

No, the office is basically empty. I end up dropping by a few times a week, usually to drop off something (I'm getting courier shipments at home since there is no one at the office, and then dropping them off in the office for the appropriate person to pick up).

May 25th.

And, as you can see, no distancing and no masks.

I'd guess those are supervisors or something, judging by the white hats and clean clothes.

Yeah, not the kind of people who would spread viruses ...

I haven't seen a lot of workers using masks or anything, but I've only ridden past a few job sites. I did see a landscaping crew wearing masks even though they were all over 10m apart, I would want to wear a mask when the crew gets in the truck.

I'm only familiar with one landscaping company in K-W, but I know that company has been meticulous in terms of adhering to all requirements, requiring masks and sanitizer , and social distancing.  Not sure why they would be better at it than construction labourers, but they definitely seem to be.

I'd guess it's good for customer relations since the crew is right in front of the client's house. I did landscaping for a bit, great job in the summer and probably and easier one to maintain decent distancing most of the time.

edit: also it's good to keep your workers healthy, lots of decent employers out there are trying.

The company I was thinking of does big, construction-type projects (eg landscaping for new commercial construction, retaining walls, that sort of thing).  That’s why I mentioned it as the work seemed comparable to construction.

Sunday, June 7th. No one without a mask working on the site today! Wink

I went past on King St today, it is up one tall floor along that side. It's exciting to see that huge hole in the street wall filling in!

A view from above, showing the progress on the part along King St W. (Taken from our empty office, in monochrome to avoid colour aberration from the tinted glass.)

How many storeys tall are the King Street facing condos going to be? Thank you.
