Our neighbours kept a few chickens when I was growing up. I don't recall there ever being issues of any sort.

My experience has been the same. I'm curious about the details of the bylaw and how they compare to bylaws in other cities. But generally I agree with you that issues are minimal, and it's a good thing that the ban will be lifted.

Per the Record this morning, Kitchener city council has voted to adopt the chicken bylaw. Only real change from staff recommendations was to reduce the side lot setback requirement, from three meters to 2.5 meters.
