It's like they couldn't decide which finish to put on it, so some of it is metallic, some glass, and there are two different colours shades of brick. But it still manages to have a drab look to it.

This project can now be listed as complete. Students arrived in September.
The building has since been named for long-time Region of Waterloo Councilor Claudette Millar. It is now known as Claudette Millar Hall.
Taken from the University's Daily Bulletin, features of Claudette Millar Hall include:
- 539 beds
- 16 full bathrooms per floor
- 5 lounges on each floor
- Moveable furniture to promote personalization of space
- Rooms are carpet free to help minimize indoor allergens
- Electronic controlled access to each floor

OMG... I get it if the person was coming from the opposite site of the building (The ramp does start at the main entrance), but is there a reason they couldn't add a smaller ramp on this side?

There's a maintenance entrance just to the left of the frame. You can see the door hinges. When the door opens, it would block the ramp.
The ramp would also leave the sidewalk an insufficient width around the ramp at that point. Of course, that's easily solved by narrowing the road.
Personally, I think the ramp should go both directions. Have both. I suspect the short one would see a lot of use, particularly by the able-bodied, as it's just more convenient for getting to several other destinations in UWP.
