RE: The COVID-19 pandemic - ac3r - 01-20-2022 Ontario to begin easing of COVID-19 restrictions on Jan. 31, with plan to lift most measures by March: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/covid-19-ontario-jan-20-2022-restrictions-lifting-ford-1.6321329 About time, though I was hoping to finally be done with masks by spring. I think that was the original plan but I guess omicron changes that. RE: The COVID-19 pandemic - tomh009 - 01-20-2022 Based on wastewater surveillance, Omicron had plateaued a week ago already. Hopefully we're now on the downslope. After two years, I can live with it. Let's hope that this reopening plan is based on realistic projections and they don't need to backtrack this time. RE: The COVID-19 pandemic - ac3r - 01-20-2022 It's more of an annoyance to me. I know their function and efficacy, but it's irritating having to constantly have it on and off, particularly when the weather is very hot or cold. I have colleagues I can't even remember the faces of since I've only momentarily seen them without. It's not normal and I don't want it to be. Though I am certain a positive test result would be a requirement, unless it eventually becomes OTS. I am sure like 80% of the anti-vax lunatics will be OK with a Pfizer pill. But you'll still have 20% claiming that there is some sort of alien biological weapon inside, with GPS equipment so the aliens can find you so they can do an anal probe on you. RE: The COVID-19 pandemic - ac3r - 01-21-2022 Interesting paper out today that adds more weight to recently studies out of Oregon and Waterloo regarding CBD. Cannabidiol inhibits SARS-CoV-2 replication through induction of the host ER stress and innate immune responses: https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/sciadv.abi6110 RE: The COVID-19 pandemic - ijmorlan - 01-21-2022 (01-21-2022, 12:17 AM)jeffster Wrote: I am sure like 80% of the anti-vax lunatics will be OK with a Pfizer pill. But why? If Pfizer is loading up the vaccine with tracking devices or whatever why wouldn’t they do the same with the after-infection pill? Is there anything that can be gleaned from case counts at this point? RE: The COVID-19 pandemic - ac3r - 01-22-2022 At this point, it's all "meh"...case numbers don't mean much anymore. The weather forecast has more impact on our lives than what is happening in regards to the pandemic. I doubt most people even care anymore except the ones who are still living in fear about dying even though they probably have a greater chance of choking on a peanut than they do of dying from this. |
