RE: Grand River Transit - Joedelay Highhoe - 10-13-2022 LOL! I know the 7's are routed away from King St. right now because King/Ottawa is closed. They're all heading down Charles. Maybe this fella missed the detour and took a wrong turn. Oops! RE: Grand River Transit - Chris - 10-13-2022 Not GRT related but yesterday I saw a Great Canadian driver turn the wrong way on Breithaupt and then do the Austin Powers manoeuvre to get it turned around and pointing back towards Google. He was on Duke and turned left towards Weber St instead of right towards King St. I'll give him credit though, he managed the turnaround very well. RE: Grand River Transit - ac3r - 10-13-2022 Lol at that bus on Madison Ave. That driver is going to get grilled by their colleagues for weeks in the break room. RE: Grand River Transit - ijmorlan - 10-13-2022 This reminds me I did once see a bus go the wrong way. It was driving around Ring Road when part of it was closed for reconstruction. Buses were supposed to be detoured to all go around the east side of campus but I saw one heading down the west side. I wondered what would happen because I knew the road was out. It ended up pulling into one of the driveways and then backed out onto Ring Road. RE: Grand River Transit - KevinL - 10-13-2022 That is such a bizarre incident! The closest buses get to anywhere on Cedar Hill is Benton. I cannot conceive how it managed to get in that position. RE: Grand River Transit - taylortbb - 10-14-2022 In case anyone doubts that CTV is reading, I got a PM here and asked to use my photo (which is actually my friend's photo), and now https://kitchener.ctvnews.ca/no-injuries-after-grt-bus-goes-off-the-scheduled-detour-route-1.6109892 . RE: Grand River Transit - KevinL - 10-15-2022 Did they first see it here, or the Reddit repost? RE: Grand River Transit - taylortbb - 10-15-2022 (10-15-2022, 06:40 PM)KevinL Wrote: Did they first see it here, or the Reddit repost? Don't know. But I'd chimed in on Reddit disclaiming credit as soon as it went up, in reply to the post linking here, so if they found the link here on Reddit why not just PM me there? I mean, they do like to get the original source. RE: Grand River Transit - Bytor - 11-15-2022 Has anybody heard anything about the articulated busses that GRT was looking at? News articles from 2020 said 2021, but then there were delays with the new Northfield barn. The first electric ones are supposed to come next year. RE: Grand River Transit - ac3r - 11-20-2022 Quote:EasyGO fare cards originally expired after 5 years. We are currently working to update the fare system so fare cards will not expire. If you experience an issue using or loading your EasyGO fare card, visit a GRT customer service centre. Interesting. I didn't know they planned for them to expire, but then again GRT makes dumb choices sometimes. Looks like they'll be updating that but they say if you have any issues, to contact customer service. RE: Grand River Transit - timio - 11-20-2022 Presto cards had an expiry at the beginning too. RE: Grand River Transit - plam - 11-24-2022 Lots of smart cards have an expiry. I have a bunch of expired OPUS cards. They'll transfer to a new card if you go talk to customer service. I can imagine technical reasons for it (e.g. updated key lengths), but I don't know that for a fact. RE: Grand River Transit - ac3r - 11-25-2022 Or to get another 5 dollars from everyone haha. But at least ours should hopefully be good until one loses or damages theirs. RE: Grand River Transit - Acitta - 11-25-2022 My Presto card says "Exp 19/11/2017". It is still working. |
