It's part of the building structure, this is a full precast concrete building similar to the two at Barrel Yards or the three at Trio on Belmont.

Arrow 2 will also be precast concrete.

Thank goodness for 185 King South, because that south facing wall is massive.

Are there any rumours about the funeral home? That north wall looks like it's designed for an adjacent building as well.

If I had to guess it's in anticipation of something eventually being there. Smart long term planning

As it is 185 is going to be looking into the windows of residents on the south side. I can't believe what a slab style building this is going to be. It'll make Bauer look slender!

But there are very few windows of substance on the lower floors

It pairs nicely with the concrete box across King Street.

Comparing the Circa and 185 renders it looks like floors 5-7 of Circa could be facing directly into 185. 1-4 are the parking levels with almost no windows on the sides

Hmmm yes you're right.

Maybe 185 won't end up being so tall when it finally gets started? I'd be hoping for that if I bought into Circa.

Admittedly the Allan Square is not the finest example of brutalist architecture in the region.
