There was an article on this project in yesterday's Record: "Neighbours decry proposed Waterloo highrise as ‘Titanic on a postage stamp’ "

It appears that the planning department is recommending a maximum of six stories (the existing building is seven). The developer has appealed to LPAT, which is now back to using the old OMB rules.

There is also a new (?) render in the article, as seen from the back of the property:

And Waterloo will be Waterloo -- it'll be built, maybe. Better than Northdale, but I do get that this is Beechwood, so who knows, perhaps you gotta follow the cash on this one.

I think you nailed it on this one.  Follow the cash.  Even the mayor is on board with the group, not the developer....  Beechwood residents will vote, the developer doesn't !!

A reversal of what usually happens in government (i.e. rebranding an existing program/bureaucracy with a new name and calling it "change").
