RE: Unique Houses of Waterloo Region - panamaniac - 10-04-2020 Off topic, but have we ever seen a render of what the Provincial court house is supposed to look like after the renovations for WRPS? I’ve always liked the building but wonder if the front facade couldn’t be made a bit “friendlier”. (sarcasm as it is no palace) RE: Unique Houses of Waterloo Region - Chris - 10-05-2020 (10-05-2020, 01:00 AM)jeffster Wrote: Where the h e double hockey sticks is this? Re the house, I assume that it originally looked much like the three houses immediately to the "north" of it. I know these posts are really old, but I've been in 100 Mansion! One of my good friends in grade 4-6 (1997-99 range) lived here, and I visited her fairly often. I was also told that it was a church that ran out of money after they built only the basement. Not sure what church it would have been affiliated with. In terms of the inside, it wasn't anything too wild (sorry to disappoint). There was a small landing right inside the front door with a closet, and then a flight of stairs down to the living area. One bathroom near the front, and an open-concept kitchen/living room that the stairs opened up into. A short hallway in the back that led to 3 bedrooms. There was another flight of stairs in the back that led up the the 'backyard,' although there isn't much of one, as the back of the property is against the Luella St hill, and the back property line is a retaining wall. All the windows in the home are up high, but it was reasonably well-lit, and not super 'basementy.' The bathroom sink was pale pink and shaped like a seashell, though. I do remember that. Sorry to shatter your dreams of a fort house haha |
