I don't believe they're open yet. I just happened to notice it when I was on the bus so I didn't get a good look inside. I just saw the Lady Glaze Doughnuts sign on the building and lettering on the window that said Opening soon. According to they're Instagram Page there was delays in opening, but they're supposed to be opening in mid October! so I'm guessing any day now  Shy

Sounds like a new entertainment facility may be headed for the old Revolution/Flying Dog building.

I'm surprised it's taken this long to be honest

Crafty Ramen is now open in DTK. I haven't been yet, but if the quality matches their other location it's the first good ramen in KW. Highly recommend checking it out.

I was there yesterday.  Noodles were excellent.  Plenty to eat for the veggie/vegan set.  They don't have their liquor licence yet, but the list of craft brewers that they are going to carry (in addition to Sapporo) seemed decent.

Pardon my ignorance of this type of food, but what is the large round brown thing on the left side of the bowl?

RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - JoeKW - 11-02-2019

It's an egg!

RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - panamaniac - 11-02-2019

I thought it must be, but the colour left me in doubt. What has tinted it?

RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - JoeKW - 11-02-2019

It's marinated: https://www.closetcooking.com/ajitsuke-tamago-ramen-eggs/

Ahhh, got it! As I said, that's a type of food that is completely unknown to me. My Asian dining is limited to Indian and Thai.

...But there's so much to choose from in KW.  There's Chinese, of course.  But this area also has Korean (Korean BBQ, Busan BBQ), Japanese (Kinkaku Izakaya, Izna plus all the sushi places),  Vietnamese (all the pho places), Uyghur (Bogda Restaurant), Hakka (Hakka Hut),  Mongolian (Mongolian Grill), Filipino (Rosel's) plus some others I probably missed.

Does Mongolian Grill actually make Mongolian food?

No.  And I doubt if any elements of Mongolian food is included.  It's mainly a pan-Asian stir fry.  I remember Bhima's Warung saying that their food is Indonesian but, from their menu, it's also pan-Asian.  But very good and creative pan-Asian.

RE: General Food, Dining and Nightlife News - KevinL - 11-02-2019

Bhima's is not traditional Indonesian, but certainly what you'd find at a cultured spot in Jakarta or Bali.
